Lambton College, the reigning World Champion will be defending their title. Enactus Fleming College was one of few select Canadian campuses chosen to highlight one of their projects during the event.

The Fleming College team will present their Paper Planet Project in the World Project Expo. This project focuses on diverting paper from landfill and recycling, and turning it into products that can later be sold. The Paper Planet Project is a social enterprise that is creating products that are biodegradable and inexpensive while reducing our environmental footprint. The first product, called the Paper Planter, is an education kit aimed at children from Kindergarten to Grade 3 that will teach them about composting and growing their own food. Future product lines will focus on packaging and protective cases for technology accessories.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Enactus Fleming College and we are thrilled to present our Paper Planet Project on the global Enactus stage,” said Raymond Yip Choy, Lead Enactus faculty advisor, and professor, Business Studies at Fleming College. “The Paper Planet Project not only reminds us what we are fighting for, but it represents the scope of possibilities we can achieve simply by diverting paper from our waste and recycling streams.”
