Doyle Inducted into CPI Hall of Merit

Congratulations to Oliver Doyle of Fleming College for his induction into the CPI Instructor Hall of Merit. Mr. Doyle was one of 47 Non-violent Crisis Intervention® Certified Instructors worldwide recognized for his extraordinary commitment to continuous Training Process that promotes the greatest Care, Welfare, Safety, and SecuritySM for those served at Fleming College.

The CPI Hall of Merit selection process included a review of the records of over 26,000 active Certified Instructors, located in 14 different countries, of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Training Program. Selection criteria included number of staff trained, total hours spent training, number of training programs taught, number of CPI training programs attended, and number of total years as a Certified Instructor of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Training Program. Meritorious Instructors will provide valuable guidance in an advisory capacity to CPI leadership to influence the direction for CPIs Instructor Association.

“We rely on these leaders within their organization and across their professions, to provide real-world practice-based evidence regarding the effectiveness of our trainings,” said Judith Schubert, CPI’s President. “They continue to validate the powerful impact of training as a vehicle for positively changing the quality of care with those we support.”

Fleming College offers a certificate programs in and Safety, Law and Emergency that include the Non-violent Crisis Intervention and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training courses, both taught by Oliver Doyle.

Oliver Doyle, M.Ed., CPC., has developed and delivered courses in Conflict Management, Management of Disturbed Behaviour, Interviewing and Counselling, Negotiation Skills and Violence in the Workplace at Fleming College. He is co-author of two reports on Life Skills in Corrections. Oliver was a co-author of Corrections in Canada published in 2001 by Pearson Education (formerly Prentice Hall, Canada). Under contract with Correctional Services of Canada he developed a Compendium of Education for Federal Correctional Officers. In 2001, Oliver was honoured, as one of only three people from 14,000 instructors, with an Award of Recognition by the Intervention Crisis Prevention Institute, recognizing his consistent contribution over 17 years to staff care, welfare, safety and security. His volunteer activities include: President of St. Leonard’s Society of Peterborough, past Executive of the National Board of Directors of St. Leonard’s and Chairperson of the Personnel Committee for seven years.
