Combine Your Love of Nature and Your Adventurous Spirit with Eco/Adventure Tourism

This 2-semester program for college or university grads, or those with relevant experience, may change the way you look at the world. Learn how to blend community, economic and resource management needs to help find a balance between environmental and social concerns, and the impact of nature and adventure based travel. Ecotourism and adventure tourism are growing segments of the travel market worldwide.Our beautiful Haliburton Campus will be your home base for the Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism Management program, which starts in September. From there, you will begin with a 5-day fall canoe or sea kayak trip with your classmates and certified instructors.In addition to leadership and teamwork skills, you can acquire industry-related professional certifications, learn about community development through volunteer community activities, and participate in field trips to sites such as interpretive facilities, conservation areas, camps, off-grid homes and eco-lodges. The program ends with either a 3-week volunteer field placement at an ecotourism and/or adventure tourism based operation, or a 10-day study trip. Popular destinations for the placement or study trip include Belize, Costa Rica, the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Ontario and the east coast.See the program page for more information.
