2010 Ontario Colleges Facilities Management Association Conference Comes to Peterborough

Peterborough, ON – September 24, 2010 – Peterborough will welcome the Administrative Services Coordinating Committee members and the Ontario Colleges Facilities Management Association from September 26 to October 1 for the 43rd ASCC-OCFMA Conference 2010, themed The Big Lift, inspired by the Peterborough Lift Locks.

More than 30 private sector companies are sponsoring this event.

Over 200 Ontario College facilitators and administrators, along with Ministry representatives, will be visiting Fleming College’s Sutherland-Brealey and Frost Campuses to discuss enhancement of sustainability practices and management of Ontario College campuses. This is the first time Fleming’s Sutherland-Brealey Campus will host this event.

On Tuesday, September 28 at 8 p.m. Maude Barlow, the National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, will be speaking on social justice issues. Media are invited to attend this event. Other keynote speakers will include Kevin Darling from RBC speaking on the Blue Water Project and Toronto procurement lawyer, and internationally known author, Paul Emanuelli.

Guests will be provided tours of Fleming’s Frost Campus in Lindsay on Monday and Thursday evenings.  The tours will include the Fish Hatchery, the Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment and the newly renovated Pathology Laboratory.
