Monica Harhay is a graduate of the Sheridan College, School of Crafts and Design Jewellery department. She co-owned and operated Studio Jewellers, then Harhay & McKay Jewellery in Toronto for over 15 years. Subsequently, her expertise took her to the Ontario Crafts Council, where she managed the gallery shop Craftworks. During the inception of the studio programs at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Monica was the Director of Studio Arts. Working in these arts environments, she was involved in the planning and implementation of all aspects of operations. This included designing and creating production and one-of-a-kind jewellery, exhibiting in and organizing juried exhibitions as well as gallery and craft shows, developing business and marketing plans, purchasing and displaying inventory, and controlling finances. She has also worked with the Art Gallery of Ontario developing policy and training manuals for staff and volunteers working in its gallery shop. In addition, Monica has taught Introductory Business and Marketing at Seneca and Humber Colleges, and Professional Practice at Sheridan's School of Crafts and Design.
