Julia Lee
Haliburton School of The Arts
Julia Lee has been knitting since she was a child and spinning for close to 20 years. She is a graduate of the 1994-2000 OHS Spinning Certificate Program offered at the Haliburton School of The Arts. She is a course coordinator for the 2008-2014 OHS Spinning Certificate Program. To develop her wearable textiles, Julia interprets a visual image, or sometimes a sentiment, to create a garment that will bring pleasure to the wearer and the viewer. Colour, texture, and functionality are primary motivations when creating yarns and fabric. Julia likes her pieces to be noticed, while still being practical and durable. When not spinning and knitting, Julia is a writer and editor.
