Hi and welcome. My name is Joe Hays and I'm a faculty member in the Police Foundations Program. I have been teaching at Fleming College since 2006. I enjoy my work here at the college and take great satisfaction in the small role I play in helping students achieve their academic and professional goals. Previously, I was a police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police for eleven years. Much of that time was spent as a Detective Constable working on major crimes at the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment in Lindsay, ON.
Along the way I have taken many police related courses including a sexual assault investigators course and the Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation. I also have an Honours Degree in Law from Carleton University and a post diploma in Regulatory Law from Algonquin College.
