Pastel Painting - Introductory

In this introductory pastel painting course, you will learn how to take an idea to completion. Learn to design from choosing your paper, ground colour, limited palette, expanded palette, right through to finishing your piece. There will be an introduction to pastel supplies and their many application techniques including the creation of a sample booklet of different mixing techniques. You will learn how to keep a clear palette, control values, and layer pigment to create the luminous and rich quality of pastels. Learn how to use different types of pastes in conjunction with each other including, layering, pressure, mixing colours, and blending areas. Throughout the week create landscapes, still life and florals in this fantastic medium.
