Hydraulics and Pumps in Water/Wastewater Treatment

This course covers the basics of hydraulics as they apply to the operation of pumps. Different kinds of pumps, both centrifugal and positive displacement, that are typically utilized in various municipal applications are reviewed. A detailed look at pump performance curves and problems associated with water hammers, cavitation and correct start-up and shut-down procedures will be discussed as well as their direct relation to pumps in a pumping station.
