Youth Marionettes

Please note: This course is suitable for youth from 11 to 13 years of age.
Explore ideas, follow your imagination, design, and create your own marionette - human, animal, a mix of both, or something absolutely different. The sky's the limit! Add lots of objects or materials that allow your puppet's personality to form. Using old clothing, newspapers, nylons, wool, paint, and wood, you'll construct heads, facial features, and bodies and then assemble all the various parts and pieces. Bring your marionette to life by attaching the mechanisms and strings to manipulate its movement. Hey, why not build a puppet theatre at the same time, design some sets and create a performance? There will also be opportunities to watch some short clips of professional puppeteers staging amazing performances.
