Please note: This course is not suitable for beginners. This course requires extensive use of hand tools (wire cutters, pliers) and a healthy level of manual dexterity. Build on the basic skills of wire jewellery to create and design your own unique pieces. Instruction will enable you to apply historical and traditional wire wrapping techniques to create a variety of rings, bangles, pendants and chains. Emphasis will be placed on exploring stone setting, including prong setting and netting using solder-less wirework. You will also create chain using nalbinding (Viking knitting). You are encouraged to incorporate your own cabochons, faceted stones, beads or found objects to create personalized original designs. Basic hand tools and accessories will enable you to continue upon completion of the course. Copper wire provided.
