Course Number: ARTS1156
Journaling is a great start to making any kind of art. This is not about 'sketching' as in copying what you see, but about responding and recording. You don't have to know how to draw to take part. Learn to use a sketchbook to take notes, as well as record events, impressions, emotions and develop ideas. You'll be using pencil, charcoal, crayon, ball point pen, mixed media, photography, collage and found materials to explore techniques for making connections and growing ideas from one page to the next. Discover how to develop material into ideas for projects and at least one will be taken to completion. Enjoy outings in the village, the Sculpture Forest, and the campus itself. All levels of artistic skill are welcome.
