Pastels - Intermediate

Please note: This course is not suitable for beginners.
With colour wheel and pastels at hand, you will spend mornings gaining an understanding of the principles behind colour theory and studying their application in pastel work from all over the world. This instruction will include instructor demonstrations. In the afternoons, you will work independently, with guidance and constructive critique from the instructor. One course project will be to paint the same subject matter many times, using different colour theory criteria and comparing them to determine your personal direction with colour. Additional projects will also be undertaken. Group discussions regarding colour choices, and laptop presentations of pastel artwork will enhance study.
