Course Number: ARTS1290
The mysterious, elusive Georgia O'Keeffe moved from New York to a solitary artistic life in the desert of New Mexico. Captivated by the sacred landscape, she responded with large, intimate images of flowers and the landscape, powerful metaphors of life. In this workshop you will create one large painting of a single bloom, adopting the methods and techniques of her painting process. Looking at how she lived her own myth, the 'participation mystique' with nature, learn how to see as an artist and apply intuitive design. Instruction is suited to all skill levels and you are welcome to work in the media of your choice (no solvents).
