Course Number: ARTS1538
Cottage style, city slick or shabby chic... restyle, rework, recycle and upcycle your furniture or accessories with texture, pattern and colour to match your cottage, verandah, cabin or home. If there is an old favourite piece of furniture tucked away in your boathouse or garage that doesn't fit the style of your rooms...transform it into a work of art. Design for your life style and budget! Experiment with faux finishes, stencils, hand painting, leaf prints, resists and finishing techniques on old tables, chairs, cabinets, lamps, chests, and more. Create vintage, refined romantic, cottage or retro-revival style. You will learn the tips and tricks of glazing for the sun soaked yellows of Provence and Tuscany, the tea stained battered look of vintage charm, the cool white wash of shabby chic or the layered depth of deep lacquers. Add buttons and bows for the MacKenzie-Childs look, birch bark and grape vine for a primitive Muskoka cottage style or a mosaic for a new table top. Instruction will accommodate all levels of skill. Furniture and accessories do not have to be stripped or under painted.
