Mixed Media Collage & Texture

Course Number: ARTS1731

This course introduces a myriad of exciting mixed media adventures. The instructional and project theme is "Ever Widening Circles", focusing on you and your relationship to the universe. This theme structures the direction of the workshop. Make Brayer and Crystalline papers, and scaffold by building texture with gels and textural materials. Use tissues and specialty papers, sculptural elements, stencils, borders, soft and oil pastels, transfers and stamping, both before and after painting in various media. Tell stories in art, combine vintage with new world, work on layering and include encaustic and found art. Revisit tried and true techniques, learn new ones, and surrender to exploration and creativity.
