For centuries indigo has been used around the world to produce wonderful blue fabrics. Freshly dyed or worn and faded, it displays a distinct personality among dyes. This course will enable you to produce fabrics dyed a variety of shades of blue, with multiple patterns achieved through Japanese resist techniques of clamping, stitching, and binding, known as shibori. The history and culture of indigo will also be explored.
