Please note: This course is not suitable for beginners. Intermediate to advanced level spinning skill are required. Some basic felting experience is also recommended.
Felt lace is a more or less open fabric, made exclusively of yarn, held together by careful wet felting. It offers a wide range of lace possibilities especially when the design starts from the spinning stage. Learn the measurable spinning parameters and techniques that optimise yarn attachment for a successful felt lace, including various yarn compositions and structures. Explore different yarn densities to create different lace types. Several samples will be spun and felted; along with creating some personal felt lace projects. The experience will benefit from the whole group's results. From curtains, collars, and placemats to lamp shades; dare to challenge your spinning expertise and creative mind!
