Stockings, cards and gift tags, ornaments and a place to keep particularly treasured pieces... Each day will present a different project, instructed by a different instructor. The variety of projects provides an opportunity to sample a number of techniques and work with a range of materials. There is no experience required in any of the techniques.
Felted Stocking with Sandi Luck Learn the process of wet felting a 3 dimensional object as you create a Christmas stocking from wool fibre. Add yarns, ribbons and fabric during the felting process to create a unique decoration that can be stuffed with goodies from Santa or hung from the mantel.
Holiday Cards & Gift Tags with Darby Bayly Create unique, personal holiday cards and tags utilizing techniques such as relief carved block printing (you'll have the opportunity to carve 2 unique stamps to take home), paper collage, simple hand stitching, stamping, and envelope folding.
Wire, Beaded &Image Transfer Ornaments with Erin Lynch Begin with making unique ornaments for your tree or home using hand tools and wire. Finished pieces can be embellished and personalized with beads and ribbons. Continued instruction will be devoted to making image transfer decorations. Learn the technique through demonstration, and then create your own decorations on wood and polymer clay.
Stained Glass Ornaments with Valerie Cowle Explore stained glass techniques while creating at least three stained glass Christmas ornaments using the copper foil method. From pattern and glass selection, through cutting, grinding, fitting, foiling and soldering, all aspects of basic processes are covered.
Display Storage Box with Don Taylor Create a glass fronted box for display and safe storage of treasured mementos. Assemblage and collage techniques will be discussed with the intention of being completed at home following the course.
