Alumni Appreciation Week
Fleming College Alumni Appreciation Week 2011 was a great success! With kick-off events in Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes attended by local dignitaries and alumni, a Wellness Fair at Sutherland Campus, job fairs at both campuses and Fleming Night at the Petes attended by over 650 Fleming College Staff, Students, Alumni and friends. The hockey game debuted our "Alumni Tribute Video" featuring alumni Steve Christie, Vicki Barrow, Cam Brownson and Brian Horton. The week was generously sponsored by Hicks Morley Human Resources Law and Advocacy.
Stay tuned for more information on next year's events!

Fleming International Culinary Festival
The 15th annual Fleming International Culinary Festival was a resounding success with about 160 guests attending and $22,600 raised at the event.
The event took place at Fleming College's Sutherland Campus on Feb. 23. Net proceeds will go to bursaries for students enrolled in programs from the Faculty of Business, Computing and Hospitality. The majority of proceeds will be endowed and matched by the provincial government as part of the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS), allowing the college to double the impact of the funds raised.
Guests sampled cuisine from around the world at the festival, prepared by students in the college's culinary programs. Special thanks go to the 120 student volunteers from a variety of programs, as well as the many faculty and staff members who led the students through this hands-on learning experience.
Proceeds from this event support students in specific programs in the Faculty of Business, Computing and Hospitality though the bursary program.
Sincere thanks to the many businesses who supported this event through auction donation or sponsorship. View all 2011 Fleming International Culinary Festival sponsors

Our next lecture is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2011 at the Peterborough Campus.
Haliburton Feast of Foods Update
Annually, the Haliburton Campus hosts a Feast of Foods event in the spring to raise funds for the campus scholarships and bursaries. This past fall, we conducted a survey to provide the college with feedback on the longstanding event, which has enjoyed 13 seasons. The result of the survey was that we should shake up the event a bit with a different twist. We are currently working towards a revised event that we hope to see take place within the next year, so check back later in the spring for updates and details! In the meantime, if you have any questions about this event or other events at the Haliburton campus, please email Sandra Dupret, Campus Principal, at sdupret@flemingc.on.ca
